About Entry

*Entry with student or senior tickets require a student ID or proof of age for seniors.


*The following customers can enter for free. Please go directly to the exhibition entrance.

- Holders of invitation tickets or invitations
- Holders of the MOT Passport (up to four Special Exhibitions)
- Persons with a Physical Disability Certificate, Intellectual Disability Certificate, Intellectual Disability Welfare Certificate, or Atomic Bomb Survivor Welfare Certificate as well as up to two attendants are admitted free of charge. Please show proof of free entry.


*A reservation is not required for entry with the MOT Passport (from 5th visit), Grutto Pass, and other tickets with applied discounts. Please purchase a ticket at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo ticket counter.

*You will need to view both exhibitions on the same day if you purchase a combined ticket.

*If you wish to view the Eiko Ishioka exhibition first, please reserve your entry time while considering the time needed to view the MOT Annual 2020 and the Rewinding the Collection exhibitions.

*Even if you wish to view the Rewinding the Collection and the MOT Annual 2020 exhibitions before the Eiko Ishioka exhibition, please first go to the Eiko Ishioka exhibition entrance.

*Tickets for the MOT Annual 2020 and the Rewinding the Collection exhibitions will be distributed.

*Please show your QR code and a ticket for either the MOT Annual 2020 or the Rewinding the Collection exhibition when entering the Eiko Ishioka exhibition at the designated time.

    *You can purchase either a date and time-specific ticket for the Eiko Ishioka: Blood, Sweat, and Tears-A Life of Design exhibition or a combined date and time-specific ticket for the Eiko Ishioka: Blood, Sweat, and Tears-A Life of Design and the MOT Annual 2020 Invisible Powers exhibitions exhibitions.

    *You will need to view both exhibitions on the same day if you purchase a combined ticket. A designated viewing time is only given for the Eiko Ishioka: Blood, Sweat, and Tears-A Life of Design exhibition.

    *You can make reservations up to 15 minutes after the desired viewing time if there are reservation slots still available. (Example: for a 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. ticket, we accept reservations until 11:15 a.m.)

    *You can view the MOT Collection: Rewinding the Collection exhibition with the purchase of any of these tickets. A ticket to the Rewinding the Collection exhibition will be distributed at the entrance to the Eiko Ishioka exhibition. No reservation is required to enter the Rewinding the Collection exhibition.

About the Date-specific MOT Annual 2020 Invisible Powers Exhibition Ticket

The MOT Annual 2020 Invisible Powers exhibition only has designated dates, so you may enter the exhibit between 10:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. as long as it is the same day. (The museum closes at 6 p.m. You cannot re-enter the museum.)

You can reserve up to five tickets with a single application.

Request for Visitors

Visitor access will be limited to the Main Entrance for the time being. The Park-side Entrance will be temporarily closed. After reopening, the museum will adhere to relevant guidelines and take necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We ask for your understanding regarding any inconveniences during this time.
Temperatures will be checked upon entry.Entry is not allowed for visitors who have a fever of 37.5 °C (99.5 °F) or higher. Please refrain from visiting the museum if you have a fever, a cough, a sore throat, or other symptoms.
Please refrain from visiting the museum if you have traveled within the past two weeks to countries or regions where infections are continuing to increase.
Please practice good etiquette by wearing a mask, avoiding coughing near others, and washing and disinfecting your hands.Visitors not wearing masks will kindly be refused entry.
Please try to stay at least 2 meters (6 feet) away from other visitors inside the museum.

Disinfectant placed at the entrance to the museum
Thorough cleaning, disinfecting, and ventilation inside the building

Signs advising people not to gather together in one place
Thorough disinfecting of rental items such as audio guides, wheelchairs and strollers
Visitors can no longer come in contact with exhibition items that can be touched by hand(These items may allow touching after being disinfected depending on the exhibit content)
Seats in public spaces have been rearranged to avoid face-to-face eating, drinking, and conversation
Suspension of use of hand dryers in restrooms
Coordination with the public health centers if visitors or staff members develop symptoms, and if necessary, this information will be announced on the website(Visitors are recommended to take note of the date and time of their visit)
 

How to receive your ticket

On the day of visit, please show your ticket by either of the following ways at the entrance.
A museum staff will be scanning your ticket barcode then you can enter the museum.

    One ticket will be issued per person.
    Print out ticket on A4 or Letter size paper.
    Please confirm that the QR code and serial number are printed clearly on your ticket.
    Black and white printing is sufficient.
