Tickets will be sold every Friday at noon for the next week's admission. (e.g. for admission from March 9 through 14, the ticket sales starts at noon on March 5)
*Tickets for admission from March 23 to 31, 2021 will be sold at 12:00 pm on March 19, 2021.

Museum will open 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Due to the rapid increase of coronavirus infections in Tokyo, the Museum will close at 5.00 pm.
Mondays (if Monday is a holiday, the Museum will be open on that Monday and closed the following day)

University Students: 500 yen
* Student ID must be presented at the entrance.
* Persons with disabilities are admitted free of charge along with one attendant. Please show official ID or other documentation.
* Regular admission is free for persons under 18 and over 70. Please show proof of age (driver's license, passport, etc.) when entering.
* Entry to most special exhibitions requires a package ticket that is priced separately.
  • All visitors must make an online reservation. Museum members and other pass holders along with visitors with disabilities who are eligible for free admission must also make an online reservation.
  • All tickets must be purchased online. Tickets cannot be purchased by phone.
  • Entry times and dates need to be reserved in advance. there is no limit on visit duration.

Visit the Museum website to check which galleries will be open during your visit.
Do not enter the Museum if you have a fever, cough, or other symptoms of illness.
All visitors and staff are subject to a temperature screening upon entry. Visitors who have a higher body temperature than usual will not be allowed to enter the Museum premises.
Wear a mask during your visit.
Sanitize your hands prior to viewing the exhibitions using the alcohol spray provided or by washing them with soap and water in a restroom.
Please be considerate of other visitors in the galleries.
Keep conversation to a minimum when inside the exhibition galleries.
Do not to touch the exhibition objects, cases, equipment, or walls.
Entrance may be restricted in each exhibition facility.
Ticket resale is prohibited.
Please keep a record of the date and time you visited the Museum. If anyone at the Museum tests positive for the novel coronavirus, the Museum will post this information on the TNM website. Please check the website periodically following your visit and contact your local health authorities if you discover a positive case was detected when you were at the Museum.

Ticket Presentation Methods

Present your ticket to museum staff at the entrance, either electronically or with a print-out.
Museum staff will scan your QR code prior to admission.

    Show staff the QR code displayed on the order confirmation page or the page indicated in the link in your order confirmation email.
    One QR code will be displayed per person for each ticket.
    Remember to charge your smartphone prior to your visit.
  • Print At Home


    Print out the order confirmation page or the page indicated in the link in your order confirmation email.
    One ticket will be issued per person.
    Print out the ticket on A4 or letter-size paper.
    Please confirm that the QR code and serial number are printed clearly on your ticket.
    Tickets may be printed in black-and-white.

  • Tickets cannot be cancelled after purchase.
