About Ticket

Please use this site to buy your NMWA The Collection Tickets (for General Admission, College Student visitors).
We recommend buying tickets online so you do not have to wait in line at the Ticket Office when you visit the NMWA.
The tickets sold here are only for admission to The Collection.
Those who qualify for free admission do not need tickets.
All visitors are admitted free-of-charge to The Collection on Free Admission Days. Tickets are not needed on those days. Upcoming Free Admission Days are 12 April (Sun.), 10 May (Sun.), 19 May (Tue.), 14 June (Sun.), 12 July (Sun.), 9 August (Sun.), and 13 September (Sun.), 2026.

Admission
The Collection
Adults ¥500 / College students ¥250
  • Admission is free for high school students, under 18 and seniors (65 and over).
  • Disabled visitors admitted free of charge, with one attendant.
  • High school students, under 18, seniors (65 and over) and disabled visitors must show their relevant student ID, proof of age or disability status document upon entry to the museum.
  • College students must show their relevant student ID upon entry to the museum.
  • Groups of 20 or more people are required to make reservations in advance through the official website of the National Museum of Western Art.

We will send an "order confirmation email" after purchase. Please ensure you can receive emails from etix.com.
Each ticket admits one person. Valid only during the exhibition period. No re-entry allowed.
You cannot cancel after you have made your purchase.
No reissue of this ticket will be given.
Personal information you provide such as name and phone number will be used only for the purposes of specifying the date and time of your visit. However, such information may be provided to a third party if:
1. required by law; or
2. reasonably requested by the authorities.
 

Ticket Presentation Method

On the day of visit, please show your ticket by either of the following ways at the entrance.
A museum staff will be scanning your ticket barcode then you can proceed to the exhibition room.

  • Show Ticket on Smartphone

    Show ticket barcode provided on after-purchase confirmation page or use the link received in your order confirmation email.
    One QR code will be displayed per person for each ticket.
    Please ensure your phone has enough battery on the day of visit.

  • Print At Home

    Print out ticket on after-purchase confirmation page, or print out later from the link received in your order confirmation email.
    One ticket will be issued per person.
    Print out ticket on A4 or Letter size paper.
    Please be sure that the QR code and the serial number are both printed clearly on your ticket.
    Black and white printing is sufficient.

Enrollment for the 3D Secure 2 will be mandatory when making purchases.
Credit card payments will not be allowed if you use a card not registered for 3D Secure 2 or a card not compatible with 3D Secure 2.

  • You cannot cancel after you have made your purchase.
    Please review carefully your ticket selection and billing information entered before submitting your order.
  • If the "Buy Tickets" button is not displayed after the on-sale period start time, please refresh the page or clear your browserfs cache (temporary Internet file) and open the Online Tickets page again.
  • Please complete your purchase within 15 minutes from displaying the Review Your Selection page. Please note that after 15 minutes your purchase will time-out and selected tickets will go back to inventory.
  • Please do not use multiple windows to process the purchase, or click on your browserfs back button. It may not process correctly.
